He has stark white hair and an intriguing glow around the irises in his moonstone coloured eyes. Somewhere in the Solastro Ocean navigates his beloved, so close to his heart yet so far away from reach. They haven’t seen each other in four years, and Jayckson yearns to be with him. To be safe, desperate for a quiet life away from the torments and assaults.
But the stars and moons have never been on his side. Ever.
How can one precisely placed boot and a precious letter stolen from him rip away all his dreams? What will happen if the forbidden liaison is found out? Could Jayckson possibly survive any more cruelty from the crew and even worse, the commander himself?

In real life, a cabin boy or ship’s boy is a boy (in the sense of low-ranking young male employee, not always a minor in the juridical sense) who waits on the officers and passengers of a ship, especially running errands for the captain.
In Boy Jayck, however, a Boy (capital B) is the lowest ranking position onboard a Navy ship, a role filled by orphans or foundlings (by their own choice, though it isn’t much of a choice as you’ll find out in the book.) They are not employees, as such. These orphans are used as slaves – and often mistreated as such – from the age of eight until their release at eighteen – assuming they survive that long.
The first line of Dialogue:
